My first time ever dining here was this past Saturday with my wife. She has eaten here before and told me this is the best burger place in the area. Upon pulling up I think to myself, “ man this place is tiny.” We walk in the door to see a thriving business that was packed with people, instantly I knew my wife was going to be right. We waited for a table to open which wasn’t a long time at all, then we sit down and order drinks. My wife a sweet tea and me a Coors Banquet. To my surprise Banquets were priced amazingly! 3.95 yes please ! The Mrs. Had me try her sweet tea and I will say being a Georgia Native this tea was amazing. We both order burgers and a half and half basket of fries and onion rings, they were fantastic. I want to put emphasis on the item that won me over. The cheese balls, Oh my word . Peperjack cheese balls with ranch dipping. Out of this world! I was taught the best way to eat them while I was there from a very kind hearted waitress however, I won’t divulge the best way here. You have to learn it for yourselves. The experience was 10/10 and I will definitely be returning every time I come to the area.

Never had a bad meal at Riverside, they’ve got the best smash burgers in town - great sides and wing dings as well!

We have been coming to this restaurant for years! We live in Richmond but always make an annual trip for the apple orchard. One year we stumbled upon this cute restaurant and have gone back ever since. They are so kind, friendly, and welcoming and the food is sooooo good!! We love it there!

Riverside is one of the best family diners I have had the pleasure eating at. The staff is patient and passionate about their diner. I went one time a few years ago and it too this day is my favorite place to eat dinner out or quick grab while coming home from work. I highly recommend the carrot cake it’s hard to find a good one that is moist, sweet, and they use natural ingredients.

You would never expect anything unassuming place like this to be so great. We got there at 10:55 AM and there were already people waiting, which is a great sign. I checked my watch and about 30 minutes after we got seated, the entire place was full. The food was excellent. If I could I would have 4.5 stars for the food because, although delicious, the portions were a tiny bit small. The service was excellent. Even though it was as busy as it was, the waitress was very friendly towards us and even gave us recommendations of things to see around Charlottesville! Prices are very reasonable as well. Would definitely eat here again.

One of my favorite places to eat since moving to Charlottesville 4 years ago. I grew up in a small town and I love the homey and personable atmosphere here. The food is delicious and they have the sweetest staff. Be sure to try their burgers (best in town if you ask me) or the footlong hotdog all-the-way!

Went on a Saturday afternoon and it was full but not crazy busy. The prices are very reasonable. I got all fried food for my meal and my partner got a burger. The burger was good but I really think the fried foods are the highlights. The cheese balls were so good. They’re pepper jack cheese cubes battered and fried. Also had fried mushrooms which I loved.

The food and selection of local beers aren't the only things that make Riverside memorable - the staff here are so kind. The atmosphere is perfect, with great tunes on the radio and fun trinkets on the walls, but nothing can distract from the delicious smashburgers and the steaming hot basket of french fries. Recommend this spot to anyone visiting the area and looking for a filling and unforgettable meal.
